Juicy Detox Juices

Juicing vs Blending
JUICING strips the fiber away from fruits & vegetables resulting in a liquid that is chlorophyll packed, super rich in vitamin & nutrient goodness, & is quickly absorbed & expediently delivered straight to your trillions of cells. Without the fiber, your digestive system does not need to work as hard to assimilate the nutrients. They become more readily available than if you had eaten the fruit whole. You can pack a lot more veggies into a juice than a smoothie.

***However, please be mindful that certain juices can spike & disregulate blood sugar if too many fruits or sweet vegetables are used.  Hence the emphasis on the green stuff. 😉

BLENDING keeps the fiber but breaks down the cell wall for easier absorption & digestion. This also helps create a slow, even release of nutrients into the bloodstream, so they tend to be more filling.

Green Detox Juice Recipes

Most of these are my own personal juice recipes discovered after playing around with lots of ingredients.
Each time you make a juice it will be unique, so try adding in things you like & leaving out any ingredients you’re not fond of.  Do your best to follow the 3:1 ratio = 1 sweet fruit or veggie for every 3 non-sweet.  If you’re new to juicing, these are some ideas to get you started.  These recipes are also included in the Hol-Somm Glow 7-Day Cleanse or can be enjoyed anytime you want to take a moment to Detox! ✨

Get ready for some pure liquid sunshine to be sent straight to your cells! 😎

PRO TIP: Pour your lusciously green concoction into a favorite coffee mug to help ease the transition from caffeine to green.

Optional Juice Boosters:
-Stir in 1 tsp of chia or ground flax after juicing ingredients
-Blend any of these juices with ⅛ cup coconut milk for a creamer texture

Gingi Juice
Ingredients:
2 big stalks of organic celery
2 big organic fuji apples, cored
2 big lemons, peeled
2 big hunks of ginger

This juice fills 2 big mason jars.  And dang is it spicy goodness!  Fantastic for your activating & cleansing the digestive system.
*This has always been my absolute favorite!  Sometimes I substitute cucumbers for the celery.  Give it a try! 😎

Bloat Buster
Ingredients:
1 cup pineapple
½ fennel bulb
3 stalks celery
½ lemon, peeled
Knob of ginger
Handful of mint

The Green Monster
Ingredients:
6 kale leaves
1 head of romaine
2 cucumbers
4 celery ribs
2 green apples, cored
1-inch nub of ginger
Handful cilantro
Handful parsley
1 lemon, peeled
Stir in after juicing:
1 tsp ground flax seed
½ tsp turmeric or 1 drop doterra turmeric
½ tsp cinnamon or 1 drop doterra cinnamon

Note: This makes a hefty amount & so worth it.  Batch it for a couple days worth of juice.

Immunity Zinger
Ingredients:
4 cucumbers
6 romaine leaves
2 green apples, cored
2 lemons, peeled
1” hunk of ginger
Pinch of black pepper
Pinch of cinnamon
Pinch of cayenne

Juice this bad boy whenever you feel something “ick-y” coming on.  For extra immune-boosting zing, double the ginger which has antiviral & anti fungal properties.  It also has an abundance of anti-inflammatory benefits & stimulates circulation. {great for relieving joint pain}

The HULK
Ingredients:
1½ cups dandelion greens {or spinach for a milder green flavor}
1 large head of romaine
5 kale leaves with stems
2 handfuls of spinach
3 cucumbers
2 green apples, cored
2 kiwis

The mild sweetness in this chlorophyll-packed juice takes the mean out of the green.  Dandelion contains choline, which stimulates your liver & gives a detox power punch!
If the kale is too strong for your preference, feel free to substitute your favorite greens in it’s place.

Jolly Green Giant
Ingredients:
6 celery ribs
2 cucumbers
3 carrots
3 large broccoli stems
1 orange, peeled
1 lemons, peeled
1 giant handful of parsley
1 large red radish, with leaves

Did you know that broccoli stems are surprisingly sweet as a juice?  Broccoli is a VIP in the cruciferous family since it’s Vitamin C and K levels are off the charts!  And the radish gives this juice some sass!

Green Peace
1 cup spinach
½ head of romaine
1 cucumber
2 pears, cored
1 lime, peeled
Knob of ginger
Handful mint
Mix with 1 cup coconut water

This juice is a little lighter for a green juice.  The mellow flavors of pear & coconut water make this green juice palatable for most people.  If you're still getting used to the taste of green things, ease into it with this recipe.

3 celery ribs
